Why Clifford Schimek?

Clifford Schimek has specialized in Florida auto and FR-44 insurance since 1987. He runs a one-person operation — no employees, no call centers, no handoffs. When you call or text, you reach the same person who wrote your policy and knows your history.

There Are No Employees Here

I’m a one-person operation. That’s intentional.

There are no employees. No layers of staff between you and the person who actually knows your policy. No one else answering my phones, handling my files, or managing my clients. When you call or text, you reach me directly — the same person who wrote your policy, knows your situation, and understands your history.

That structure enhances everything.

When something goes sideways — and occasionally in this business, something does — you don’t get passed around. You don’t get put on hold while someone “checks with the agent.” You get me. And when the issue is mine, I own it. When it’s a company partner’s error, I’m still the one who takes responsibility for getting it resolved.

That’s not a small thing. For a lot of my clients, it’s the thing they value most — more than any specific rate or carrier option. Knowing that one person has their file, knows their story, and will make things right when they need to.

Vested Interest — In a Way That Actually Matters to You

Here’s something worth understanding about how my business model works.

When I earn a commission, I keep it. No staff to pay. No overhead to absorb. No pay-per-click campaigns eating into the margins. Without those costs, nothing pulls my focus away from the one thing that actually matters — taking care of you.

That creates a very different dynamic than dealing with a large agency where your account is one of thousands being managed by people who are compensated at a base rate regardless of whether you feel well-served.

The commission dollars your insurance generates aren’t being spent somewhere down the organizational chart. They stay with the person doing the work — the person who quoted you, advised you, and is going to be there when something changes. That’s not just more efficient. It’s more honest.

And there’s no expensive storefront either. No commercial lease, no utilities, no signage, none of the overhead that comes with maintaining a physical office presence. Those are real costs — and in a traditional agency setup, they get absorbed somewhere. Here, they don’t exist.

And I don’t spend money on traditional marketing either. No ad budget. No paid placements. The drivers who find me generally find me the same way — through organic search, after reading something I wrote that actually answered a question they were asking. That’s intentional. If the writing is helpful enough to bring someone here, the relationship tends to start on the right foot.

Specialization Is the Foundation

I’ve chosen to go deep in one direction rather than wide across many. Not because I couldn’t write other types of policies — I can, and occasionally do for existing clients — but because depth is where the real value lives. When you call me about a Florida auto insurance situation, you’re not getting someone who handled three of these last month alongside a dozen homeowners rewrites and a couple of commercial accounts. You’re getting someone who has been inside this specific world, every single day, for decades. It’s the same reasoning I walk through in more detail in why specialization matters in insurance, because the difference between a generalist and a specialist isn’t theoretical — it shows up in the outcome.

For FR-44 insurance in Florida especially, that distinction matters enormously. The compliance requirements are strict, the timing is unforgiving, and the mistakes I see most often aren’t dramatic — they’re small oversights that nobody flagged early enough. Knowing what to watch for, and when, is the product of doing this constantly. Not occasionally.

Experience You Can Actually Feel

The career I came from before insurance — before 1987 — had nothing to do with finance or sales. But what it gave me was something that turned out to matter far more than either of those things — years of managing pressure, solving problems in real time, and learning how to sit with someone in a stressful moment and help them leave calmer than they arrived.

That’s exactly what this work requires.

Not sales pressure. Not technical jargon. Not a script. Just someone with enough experience to explain what’s actually happening — and enough patience to do it until it makes sense.

That’s what I discovered I was good at. And it’s what I’ve been doing ever since. If you want the full story, you can read more about my background at who is Clifford Schimek.

Everyone Gets Treated Fairly. No Judgment.

The people who call me come from all kinds of situations.

Clean driving records. Years of gaps. Past DUIs. First-time drivers. Relocated families who don’t understand Florida’s insurance landscape yet. Drivers who made a mistake and are trying to put things back together. People who feel embarrassed or ashamed walking into the conversation.

None of that changes the way I approach things.

Insurance is complicated, Florida is unforgiving, and life happens to everyone. My job isn’t to assess whether someone deserves help. It’s to understand their situation, explain their options honestly, and guide them toward the best outcome available to them. Every time.

That’s what compassion looks like in this work. It’s not a soft quality — it’s a practical one. People who feel judged don’t share the full picture. And if I don’t have the full picture, I can’t actually help them.

It’s Not Just About the Numbers

Rates matter. Everyone wants to know the number. And without a competitive rate, there’s not much else to talk about — that part goes without saying.

But the number is never the whole story.

The carrier you’re placed with matters. The coverage structure matters. The payment plan matters. How the policy is set up for renewal matters. And the person managing all of that — their knowledge, their availability, their judgment — matters more than most people realize until something goes wrong.

I’ve watched drivers save $30 a month by choosing the wrong carrier and spend the next year dealing with the consequences. I’ve watched FR-44 clients treat their compliance period casually and end up starting the three-year clock over again.

The number is where the conversation starts. The process is where the outcome is actually determined. That’s something I go into much more depth on in auto insurance isn’t just a policy — it’s a process, because understanding that distinction is what separates drivers who come out ahead from the ones who don’t.

The Bottom Line

If you’re looking for the lowest number someone will type into a quote screen and email to you, I’m probably not your best option.

If you’re looking for someone who knows Florida auto insurance deeply, provides a competitive rate, handles your file personally, picks up when you call, and genuinely cares how things turn out for you — then we’re probably a good fit.

I’ve been doing this work for decades. The clients who stay with me year after year aren’t here because of a single good quote. They’re here because the process keeps working.

And when something doesn’t go right — whether that’s my error or a company partner’s — there’s no one else to call, no one to pass it to, and no one else responsible for making it right.

That’s me. That’s always been me.

The buck stops here. And honestly, that’s exactly how I want it.
